Amanda Newins
Amanda is an Attorney at Shannon & Associates, P.C., focusing her practice on criminal and civil litigation. Amanda previously served for several years as a prosecutor in Chesapeake, where she handled primarily adult felony cases. She is on the Chesapeake City Council.
Amanda has litigated complex felony matters and developed special interests in animal law and driving under the influence offenses. Beyond her practice, Amanda serves on the Board of Directors for the Young Lawyers Conference (YLC) of the Virginia State Bar as well as the Women’s Division of the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce Chesapeake (WDHRCCC). She also serves on the Executive Board of the Chesapeake Bar Association as Vice President. Amanda lives in Chesapeake with her husband, where the two enjoy opening their home to shelter dogs as volunteers and fosters with the Chesapeake Humane Society.
